Job summary

Venwind Refex Power Limited in India seeks a seasoned procurement professional to manage end-to-end sourcing of Hub, Nacelle and Drivetrain components, from supplier selection and negotiations through PO placement and delivery to the factory.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Quality and Finance, monitor supplier performance, lead cost-reduction initiatives and ensure timely material availability for turbine manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 5–12+ years of procurement experience in wind turbine components.
• End-to-end sourcing, negotiations and PO placement experience.
• Familiarity with SAP/ERP and MS Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of Hub, Nacelle and Drivetrain components, from sourcing to PO placement, supplier follow-up, inspection, dispatch and delivery at the factory.
• Develop, evaluate and manage suppliers for critical wind turbine components.
• Lead commercial negotiations covering price, payment terms, delivery, warranty and other terms.
• Prepare and release purchase orders in coordination with Engineering, Quality, Planning and Finance.
• Monitor supplier production, inspection, dispatch, logistics to ensure timely delivery.
• Track critical/long-lead items and manage supply risks and recovery plans.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on drawings, BOMs, QAPs, NCRs and supplier quality issues.
• Drive supplier performance improvements in Cost, Quality and Delivery (QCD).
• Implement cost reduction, localization and value engineering initiatives.

Role & responsibilities

Manage end-to-end procurement of Hub, Nacelle and Drivetrain components, from sourcing and commercial negotiations through PO placement, supplier follow-up, inspection, dispatch and delivery at the factory.

Develop, evaluate and manage suppliers for critical wind turbine components including:

Drivetrain:

• Gearbox, Generator, Main Shaft, Main Bearings, Couplings, Brakes and associated components.

Nacelle:

• Main Frame / Bedplate, Castings, Structural & Fabricated Components, Yaw Systems, Cooling Systems, Lubrication Systems, Motors and auxiliary systems.

Hub / Rotor:

• Hub Castings, Rotor Lock, Pitch-related components, Bearings, Hydraulic Systems, Motors and associated mechanical components.

Common Components:

• Mechanical and electrical components, fasteners, covers, cables, hydraulic and lubrication components, and other associated Hub, Nacelle and Drivetrain components.
• Identify, qualify and develop new suppliers and alternate sources to ensure cost competitiveness, supply continuity and risk mitigation.
• Lead commercial negotiations covering price, payment terms, delivery, warranty, LDs, tooling, freight and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and release purchase orders in coordination with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Finance and other internal stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery by closely monitoring supplier production, inspection, dispatch and logistics schedules
• Track critical and long-lead items and proactively manage supply risks, delays and recovery plans.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams on technical specifications, drawings, BOMs, QAPs, inspections, NCRs and supplier quality issues.
• Drive supplier performance improvement in Cost, Quality and Delivery (QCD)
• Develop and implement cost reduction, localization, alternate sourcing and value engineering initiatives.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and conduct regular supplier reviews / visits.
• Work closely with PPC, Production, Engineering, Quality, Logistics and Financeto ensureuninterrupted material availability for turbine manufacturing.
• Ensure appropriate commercial terms, warranties, delivery commitments and contractual requirements are incorporated into purchase orders.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering
• or equivalent.
• MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain / Procurement / Operations would be an advantage.
• 5 to 12+ years of relevant experience, depending on the level of the position.
• Strong preference for candidates with direct experience in wind turbine OEMs / major wind industry companies.
• Proven experience in procurement of Hub, Nacelle and Drivetrain components is essential.
• Strong exposure to vendor development, commercial negotiations, purchase order management and supplier expediting.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, fabrication, welding, heat treatment and mechanical/electrical assembly.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings, BOMs and technical specifications.
• Experience with SAP / ERP and MS Excel.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations as required.
