Job summary

The role requires optimizing resources, ensuring schedule adherence, maintaining ERP discipline (Oracle/SAP PP), and managing OEM communications and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech or MBA degree required.
• 6–10 years of PPC experience in Tier-1 or Tier-2 automotive ancillary manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP or SAP PP, EDI planning systems, customer portals, and advanced MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Drive production schedules daily, weekly, and monthly based on customer demand and capacity.
• Manage customer schedules via EDI and portals; track OTIF/OTD and communicate planning status.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Dispatch, and Procurement to ensure material flow and on-time dispatch.
• Perform MRP to optimize inventory levels and manage raw material shortages to avoid downtime.
• Prepare MIS reports and ensure compliance with Oracle ERP/SAP PP workflows and IATF 16949/QMS standards.

Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Production Planning & Control to lead end-to-end production planning and dispatch planning based on customer schedules and material availability. The ideal candidate will optimize production resources, ensure strict schedule adherence, maintain ERP discipline (Oracle/SAP), and manage OEM customer schedules and communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Schedule Adherence (25%):
  • Drive daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and capacity availability.
  • Monitor plan vs. actual performance continuously and implement quick corrective actions.
• Customer Schedule & Portal Management (20%):
  • Manage customer schedules via EDI systems and customer portals.
  • Track delivery compliance (OTIF/OTD) and serve as the primary contact point for customer planning communications and escalation management.
• Cross-Functional Execution (20%):
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Dispatch, and Procurement/Purchase teams to ensure seamless material flow and dispatch execution.
• Inventory, Resource & Shortage Management (15%):
  • Perform Material Requirement Planning (MRP), optimize inventory levels, and manage raw material shortages to eliminate production downtime risks.
• MIS & Quality Compliance (20%):
  • Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports and track critical planning KPIs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Oracle ERP / SAP PP planning workflows and comply with IATF 16949 / QMS standards.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

• Education: Graduate Engineer (B.E. / B.Tech) or MBA.
• Experience: 6 to 10 years of core experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC) within Tier-1 or Tier-2 Automotive Ancillary Manufacturing (tube, exhaust, fabrication, or assembly plants preferred).
• ERP & Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP or SAP PP, EDI planning systems, Customer Portals, and advanced MS Excel.
• Key Skills: Capacity planning, MRP, OTIF improvement, dispatch planning, Plan vs. Actual analysis, and shortage management.
