You will oversee process parameters, cycle times, quality control, new mould validation, and team development, ensuring on-time delivery and efficiency while reducing waste. This role requires hands-on leadership in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Prepare and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
• Monitor process parameters and ensure stability and quality.
• Drive OEE, reduce idle time, and Kaizen initiatives.
• Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance and Stores.
• Validate new moulds and support T0/T1 trials.
• Train mould shop technicians and ensure discipline and safety.

Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning and Execution

• Ensure production activities are carried out as per the daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
• Achieve production targets as per customer requirements and delivery schedules.
• Prepare machine-wise and shift-wise production plans.
• Ensure optimum utilization of injection moulding machines and manpower.
• Monitor production output against planned targets.
• Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance and Stores departments.
• Ensure timely execution of production schedules without affecting customer deliveries.
• Monitor machine loading and capacity utilization.

2. Production Process Monitoring

• Monitor injection moulding parameters and ensure process stability.
• Ensure machines operate with approved process parameters.
• Monitor cycle time, injection pressure, holding pressure, back pressure and mould temperature.
• Ensure correct material, colour and grade are used as per production requirements.
• Monitor start-up approval and first-piece inspection.
• Ensure process parameters are documented and maintained.
• Implement process optimization to improve productivity and reduce cycle time.
• Ensure proper handling of moulds during loading and unloading.

3. Productivity and Efficiency Improvement

• Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Improve machine utilization and production efficiency.
• Reduce machine idle time and unnecessary stoppages.
• Identify bottlenecks in production operations.
• Optimize cycle time without affecting product quality.
• Improve manpower productivity.
• Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.
• Reduce material wastage and process losses.

4. Quality Control and Rejection Reduction

• Ensure production is carried out as per approved quality standards.
• Coordinate with Quality to control in-process rejection.
• Ensure first-piece and patrol inspections are conducted.
• Analyse rejection trends and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.

5. New Mould Development and Validation

• Coordinate with mould manufacturers for new mould development.
• Review mould design, DFM and technical specifications.
• Monitor mould manufacturing progress and delivery schedules.
• Participate in mould trials, T0, T1 and subsequent trials.
• Ensure mould validation through dimensional, functional and quality inspections.
• Coordinate modifications based on trial observations.
• Ensure proper handover of new moulds to production.

6. Team Management and Development

• Allocate daily jobs and responsibilities to mould shop technicians.
• Monitor manpower utilization and work completion.
• Train technicians in mould maintenance, troubleshooting and safety practices.
• Develop technical skills and multi-skilling within the team.
• Conduct regular performance reviews.
• Ensure discipline, attendance and effective teamwork.
