Job summary

The Sleep Company is seeking an Assistant Manager – Logistics Operations in Bhiwandi, Mumbai, to oversee end-to-end last-mile delivery, monitor courier partner performance, and drive in-house logistics and customer delivery experience.

You will improve delivery performance, reduce RTO, optimize costs, and collaborate with Technology and cross-functional teams to implement SOPs and data-driven improvements. Immediate joiners preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–7 years of experience in Logistics, Last-Mile, Supply Chain or E-commerce Operations.
• Strong experience in courier partner management and last-mile operations.
• Experience handling high shipment volumes and team management.
• Strong understanding of logistics KPIs, SLA management and delivery TAT.
• Hands-on with Advanced MS Excel / Google Sheets and basic SQL knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day last-mile logistics operations across pan-India locations.
• Monitor shipment movement from dispatch to final delivery and ensure EDD adherence.
• Track KPIs including Delivery %, EDD, RTO %, NDR, TAT, First Attempt Delivery and aging shipments.
• Handle escalations related to delays, undelivered, damaged or misrouted shipments.
• Manage performance of courier partners and conduct reviews against SLAs and KPIs.
• Onboard courier partners based on serviceability, capacity, performance and cost.
• Drive lane-wise and city-wise courier allocation and support in-house logistics to improve TAT.
• Lead the logistics operations team, define KPIs and drive productivity.
• Prepare MIS and dashboards; analyze data to identify gaps and improvements.
• Develop SOPs and automate/system improve processes in collaboration with Tech.

About the Role

The Sleep Company is looking for a results-driven Assistant Manager – Logistics Operations to manage end-to-end last-mile delivery operations, courier partner performance, in-house logistics and customer delivery experience.

The role will be responsible for improving delivery performance, EDD adherence, reducing RTO and delivery TAT, optimizing logistics costs and driving operational improvements through data and technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day last-mile logistics operations across pan-India locations.
• Monitor shipment movement from dispatch to final delivery and ensure EDD adherence.
• Track key logistics KPIs including Delivery %, EDD, RTO %, NDR, TAT, First Attempt Delivery and shipment aging.
• Manage escalations related to delayed, undelivered, damaged or misrouted shipments.
• Manage performance of national, regional and local courier partners.
• Conduct regular courier partner performance reviews against defined SLAs and KPIs.
• Evaluate and onboard courier partners based on serviceability, capacity, performance and cost.
• Drive lane-wise and city-wise courier allocation based on partner performance.
• Support regional and in-house logistics operations to improve delivery coverage and TAT.
• Lead the logistics operations team, define KPIs and drive productivity and accountability.
• Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly MIS and logistics dashboards.
• Analyse logistics data to identify operational gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement SOPs and process improvements to improve operational efficiency and reduce errors.
• Work closely with Technology and cross-functional teams to drive automation and system improvements.
• Identify opportunities for logistics cost optimization, including cost per shipment, lane-wise costs and courier commercials.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Stores, CRM/Customer Experience, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology and Business teams.
• Drive initiatives to improve customer delivery experience and overall operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–7 years of experience in Logistics, Last-Mile, Supply Chain or E-commerce Operations.
• Strong experience in courier partner management and last-mile operations.
• Experience handling high shipment/order volumes.
• Experience in team management and stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of logistics KPIs, SLA management and delivery TAT.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with Advanced MS Excel / Google Sheets.
• Experience with logistics/OMS platforms such as ClickPost, EasyEcom, Unicommerce or similar systems.

Good to Have

• Experience in D2C, E-commerce, Retail or Home Furnishing/Furniture logistics.
• Experience in setting up or scaling in-house/regional logistics networks.
• Experience in courier partner onboarding and commercial negotiations.
• Lean/Six Sigma or process improvement exposure.
• Basic SQL / Data Analytics knowledge.
