Job summary

Thejo Engineering in Chennai district seeks an experienced logistics professional to manage end-to-end EXIM, warehousing, packing and dispatch operations. The role requires planning inbound/outbound transportation, container stuffing and ensuring inventory accuracy.

You will drive packing optimization, monitor shipment status and costs, coordinate with freight forwarders and suppliers, and lead improvements using 5S/Kaizen while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in EXIM, Packing & Logistics.
• Experience in planning and controlling inbound/outbound transportation, routing and load optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Logistics, Warehouse, Packing, Dispatch and EXIM operations.
• Plan and control inbound/outbound transportation, vehicle placement, routing and load optimization.
• Ensure FG inventory accuracy, warehouse discipline, 5S, FIFO, ageing and dispatch readiness.
• Drive packing optimization, container stuffing, vehicle utilization and damage prevention.
• Manage import/export shipments, customs clearance, shipping documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, CFS/ICD, transporters, customers and suppliers.
• Monitor ETD/ETA, shipment status, customs clearance, DO/OOC, delivery and POD closure.
• Control freight, detention, demurrage, halting, premium freight and logistics costs.
• Monitor KPIs including OTIF, freight cost, vehicle/container utilization, inventory accuracy and shipment lead time.
• Prepare MIS, Excel/Power BI dashboards and provide performance updates to management.
• Ensure effective use of SAP/ERP/WMS for inventory, dispatch and logistics transactions.
• Lead cost reduction, process improvement, Kaizen, automation and standardization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Customs, DGFT, GST, Incoterms and customer/destination-country requirements / cross country shipments.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Production, PPC, Sales, Quality, Purchase and Finance and Customer Service.
• Support and guide the logistics/warehouse team to achieve safe, timely, cost-effective and customer-focused operations.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates with DME/ BE : 8-12 years in EXIM, Packing & Logistics. Location: Ponneri, Chennai. Salary will be commensurate with experience and industry standards.
