Job summary

CheQ is seeking a sharp Assistant Manager Legal & Compliance to anchor regulatory and legal operations across Payments, UPI, Credit Cards, and Lending products. You will translate RBI, TRAI, and judicial requirements into actionable compliance programmes.

You will lead contract management, handle litigation, draft responses to notices, and establish a compliance framework for credit operations. The role requires cross‑functional collaboration with product teams and regulators, plus governance

Qualifications

• LLB from a recognised university; LLM or CS qualification is an advantage.
• 2–6 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in fintech/payments/banking.
• Hands-on exposure to RBI regulations (PA Guidelines, Master Directions...).
• Working knowledge of NPCI frameworks, UPI ecosystem, and card network rules.
• Experience handling judicial matters, including writ jurisdiction and Cyber Cell engagements.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.

What you’ll be doing

We are looking for a sharp, execution-oriented Assistant Manager Legal & Compliance to anchor our regulatory and legal operations across Payments, UPI, Credit Cards, and Lending products. You will work at the intersection of product, business, and regulators- translating complex RBI, TRAI, and judicial requirements into actionable compliance programmes.

Qualifications and Experience

  Instruments, FEMA)
• Working knowledge of NPCI frameworks, UPI ecosystem, and card network operating rules
• Prior experience handling judicial matters, including writ jurisdiction and Cyber Cell
  engagements
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
