Job summary

Brightstone is seeking a dedicated Fire Safety Engineer for on-site operations in New Delhi. You will lead fire suppression efforts, conduct risk assessments, and develop emergency plans while coordinating with health and safety teams.

You will train staff, maintain records, and ensure compliance with evolving fire safety standards across residential properties.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Fire Services Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of current fire suppression and firefighting techniques.
  • Good knowledge of fire records systems, communications equipment and fire reporting procedures.
  • Good knowledge of emergency medical services principles.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes a designated position on an assigned apparatus and follows command structure instructions for fire suppression or related emergency service.
  • Performs equipment set-up upon arrival at a fire scene.
  • Dispatches emergency personnel.
  • Prepare Fire Prevention plan.
  • Completes appropriate rescue, fire fighting and salvage operations at a fire scene.
  • Uses established procedures to determine if individuals are trapped within a burning facility and takes appropriate actions to secure their rescue.
  • Performs salvage duties, including removing all burnt items, sweeping and mopping floor, removing excess water and debris and protecting any property, which has not been damaged.
  • Overhauls affected structure to prevent rekindling.
  • Takes inventory of all equipment after suppression has been achieved, recording all equipment, which must be left at the site.
  • Attends and provides information for pre-fire planning studies and maintains a current knowledge of pre-fire plans.
  • Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work tasks to new employees in the same or similar class of positions.
  • Communicate and liaise with all members of the Fire, Health & Safety department to ensure collaborative working practices.
  • Actively participate and facilitate training as directed by the Fire, Health & Safety management team.
  • Organising and delivering fire safety training programs for all staff members and educating them about fire safety.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on the principles, practices and new developments.
  • Responds to customer’s questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Conducting risk assessments, creating emergency response plans, and ensuring that all employees are adequately trained in fire safety protocols.
  • Ensure that all documentation and records are accurate, filed appropriately and kept up to date.
  • Staying up to date with fire safety regulations and codes, and ensuring the organisation complies with all relevant standards.
  • Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.
  • Performing regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and fire protection systems to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Conducting comprehensive fire risk assessments of buildings, facilities, or premises to identify potential fire hazards, assess risks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure to maintain fire system 100% fully operational.
  • Ensure to maintain all fire equipment maintenance, audit breakdowns records.
  • Prepare & Implement Disaster & Emergency management plan.
