Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy is seeking a senior EHS&Ｓ leader to advance safety, health, and environmental performance across chemical/API manufacturing operations in Gujarat. The role focuses on risk reduction, audits, and strong safety culture.

Required are 8–12 years of EHS&S experience with at least 5 years in leadership, plus preferred certifications in EHS, ESG, or sustainability. Ties to regulatory compliance and continuous improvement are essential.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of EHS&S experience, including leadership within chemical/API manufacturing.
• At least 5 years in a leadership position within chemical/API manufacturing.
• Certifications in EHS, ESG, or sustainability are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety Management: Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific SMS aligned with ISO 45001 and local regulations.
• Occupational Health Management: Oversee medical surveillance, health risk assessments, and ergonomics initiatives.
• Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management.
• Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver safety and health training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify best practices and new safety solutions to mitigate risks and enhance safety.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• 1. Safety Management:

  Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific Safety Management Systems (SMS)in alignment with ISO 45001 and local regulations.

  Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, chemical safety standards, andcorporate safety policies.

  Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, hazard identification, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for all manufacturing processes.

  Lead and participate in safety audits, inspections, and monitoring programs (both internal and external).

• 2. Occupational Health Management:

  Oversee effective occupational health programs, including medical surveillance,health risk assessments, and ergonomics initiatives.

  Monitor employee exposure to hazardous chemicals, dust, solvents, and noise,implementing controls such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ventilation, and engineering safeguards

• 3. Environmental and Regulatory Compliance:

  Collaborate with the EHS/Environmental team to ensure compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., waste management, emissions, effluent treatment,chemical handling).

• 4. Training & Awareness:

  Develop and deliver comprehensive safety and health training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.

• 5. Continuous Improvement:

  Identify and implement best practices, new technologies, and innovative safety solutions to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.

  Promote behavior-based safety initiatives and employee engagement programs.

Preferred candidate profile

8-12 years of EHS&S experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership position within chemical/API manufacturing.

Additional certifications in EHS, ESG, or sustainability are preferred
