Job summary

Worldline is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (PostgreSQL) in Mumbai to manage enterprise PostgreSQL environments. You will handle database administration, high availability, performance tuning, disaster recovery, security, automation, and production support for mission‑critical systems.

Responsibilities include installation, HA, replication, backups, PITR, security controls, scripting, DR drills, incident handling, RCA, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 6–8 years of hands-on PostgreSQL Database Administration experience in production environments.
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, replication, backup/recovery, and Linux administration.
• Proficiency in Bash/Shell scripting.
• Experience managing incidents under strict SLA-driven environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Manage high-availability environments, including streaming and logical replication.
• Implement and support connection pooling tools such as PgBouncer.
• Manage backups, recovery, and PITR testing using pgBackRest and PostgreSQL utilities.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, including WAL, memory, vacuuming, indexing, and partitioning.
• Implement database security controls, including RLS, SSL/TLS encryption, and audit logging.
• Automate operational tasks using Bash/Shell scripting.
• Participate in DR drills and ensure business continuity readiness.
• Handle incident, change, and problem management through ticketing systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), process audits, and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and product support for issue resolution.
