Job summary

BYLD Group in Gurugram, India, is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL servers across environments. You will monitor health, performance, and availability, implement backups, DR, and HA, and collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with streaming and logical replication, pgBackRest, and advanced query optimization.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and administration.
• Experience with PostgreSQL backup and recovery tools (pgBackRest, pg_dump, pg_basebackup).
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL replication (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication).
• Expertise in database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Experience in database migration, patching, and upgrades.
• Knowledge of High Availability solutions such as Patroni, Pgpool-II, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, or Zabbix.
• Good understanding of SQL, PL/pgSQL, and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in production and non-production environments.

• Ensure database security, user management, and access control.
• Work with development and DevOps teams to support application deployments.
• Create and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution when required.
