Job summary

Worldline is seeking a Production Support Engineer in Chennai to manage PostgreSQL and Oracle databases in production. You will monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability and reliability.

The ideal candidate has 4-5 years of experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, Linux/Unix environments, and scripting (Shell/Python), plus familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS/Azure and ITIL processes.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Computer Science with 4-5 years of experience.
• Strong hands-on PostgreSQL experience.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database.
• Experience in production support and incident management.
• Familiar with Linux/Unix, scripting in Shell/Python.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Provide production support and administration for PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and health.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and production issues within SLA timelines.
• Perform routine database maintenance, backup, recovery, and housekeeping activities.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes, including RCA preparation.
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to resolve technical issues.
• Identify and implement performance improvements and preventive measures.

We are looking for a Production Support Engineer with strong experience in PostgreSQL and working knowledge of Oracle to support and maintain critical production systems. The role involves monitoring database environments, troubleshooting incidents, resolving production issues, and working closely with application, infrastructure, and development teams to ensure high system availability and performance.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

• Provide production support and administration for PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and health.

Who Are We Looking For

• Qualified BE/B-Tech Computers with 4-5 Years experience
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database.
• Experience in production support, incident management, and database troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of database performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Exposure to AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Oracle Cloud.

Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/Python).

Understanding of ITIL processes.
