Job summary

KSB in India seeks a Diploma/Engineer with 7–8 years of experience for finish machining and subcontracting in stainless steel. You will identify vendors, negotiate rates, coordinate with IED/IPC, and ensure OTD >95% while maintaining cost models and INFO records. Store-ops coverage may be required in absence of the store in-charge.

Experience in foundry processes, CNC programming is a plus; strong communication and leadership skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7–8 years of relevant experience in finishing machining and subcontracting.
• Experience in vendor development and cost modeling for foundry subcontracting.
• Strong negotiation and rate finalization abilities.
• Knowledge of Foundry processes and CNC programming an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Explain drawings and finish machining processes to vendors.
• Conduct time studies for sample casting subcontract components.
• Develop capacity for stainless steel castings finishing machining.
• Identify and develop vendors for finish machining of stainless steel.
• Set up and monitor finish machining of stainless-steel castings from foundry to customer.
• Identify alternate/new subcontract vendors for foundry processes.
• Arrange multiple quotations for subcontract/processes; perform rate comparisons.
• Coordinate with IED for rate calculation and vendor settlements.
• Coordinate with IPC and all vendors.
• Establish cost models and maintain records for subcontract components.
• Handle subcontracting including PO creation/release; coordinate for new item development.
• Ensure On-Time-Delivery >95%.
• Aim for zero customer complaints about machining rejection.
• Secondary responsibility: store operations in absence of store in-charge.

Requirement profile:

Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical engineering

Experience: 7 - 8 yrs. experience

Major responsibilities:

1. Responsible for explaining drawings / required process to be followed for Finish machining to all vendors.

2. Responsible for sample casting sub contract components time study from IED

3. Finish machining castings capacity development for Stainless Steel castings.

4. Proper Vendor identification and development for Finish machining of Stainless-Steel components.

5. Set up Finish machining of Stainless-Steel castings at Foundry & monitoring of its in & out from Foundry to Customer.

6. Identify alternate/new vendors for Subcontract processes used in foundry.

7. Enquiry/Arrange multiple quotations for all subcontract/Process used in foundry.

8. Rate comparison, Negotiation & final rates with necessary approval.

9. Proper co-ordination with IED for rate calculation and settlement with Vendor.

10. Coordinate with IPC & with all vendors

11. Cost model establishment for all subcontract components.

12. Prepare & Maintain INFO records for all subcontract components.

13. All components Subcontracting including finish machining PO creation/release

14. Coordinate for new item development

15. Ensure OTD >95%.

16. Zero Customer complaints from customer for machining rejection.

17. Secondary responsibility of looking after Store Operations in the absence of Store In charge
