Job summary

LANCO KONDAPALLI POWER LIMITED is seeking a senior procurement professional to lead end-to-end sourcing for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and related power-plant equipment in India. You will build strategic OEM partnerships with GE, Siemens and others to secure original parts, optimize TCO and manage complex contracts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of dedicated purchase and procurement experience in gas-based power plants.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation; MBA/PGDM desirable.
• Deep knowledge of INCOTERMS, LC, Bank Guarantees, LDs and contract law.
• Proficient in SAP MM / Oracle SCM and e-procurement platforms.
• Strong strategic negotiation and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for GT, ST, HRSG, gas compressors, DCS/PLC, and BOP equipment.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs (GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Ansaldo) for original parts and services.
• Formulate procurement strategies to optimize total cost of ownership and negotiate terms, milestones, warranties.
• Negotiate and manage long-term service agreements, overhaul contracts, and maintenance packages.
• Implement inventory models (VMI, Min-Max) for critical spares to minimize outages.
• Coordinate logistics for natural gas supply, metering stations, and gas conditioning systems; oversee international freight and customs.
• Draft and review contracts with indemnities, LD clauses, bank guarantees, and dispute resolution; align schedules with plant maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to import-export regulations, GST/Customs, environmental safety, and internal audits.

Specialized Equipment Sourcing:

• Lead end-to-end procurement for Gas Turbines (GT), Steam Turbines (ST), Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), gas compressors, control systems (DCS/PLC), and balance of plant (BOP) equipment.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with major global and domestic OEMs (e.g., GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Ansaldo, etc.) for original parts and specialized engineering services.
• Formulate procurement strategies to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), negotiate favorable commercial terms, payment milestones, warranties, and performance guarantees.

B. Long-Term Contracts & Maintenance Agreements

• Negotiate, execute, and manage complex Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), major overhaul contracts, and scheduled maintenance service packages for high-value gas turbine assets.
• Implement inventory models (e.g., VMI, Min-Max) for critical spares, capital spares, high-temperature hot-gas path components, and emergency break-down parts to minimize forced outages.

C. Gas Fuel Supply & Logistics (Domain Specific)

• Coordinate logistics and commercial aspects for natural gas (RLNG / domestic gas) supply pipelines, metering stations (RMS), and gas conditioning systems.
• Oversee international freight, customs clearance, transit insurance, and heavy haulage logistics for imported critical power plant components.

D. Team Leadership, Governance & Compliance

• Draft and review robust purchase contracts, legal indemnities, liquidated damages (LD) clauses, bank guarantees (BG), and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Partner closely with O&M, Plant Engineering, Finance, and Safety (EHS) teams to align procurement schedules with plant shutdown and overhaul timelines.
• Ensure strict adherence to import-export regulations, taxation (GST/Customs), environmental safety norms, and internal governance audits.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Background

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. Post-graduation in Supply Chain Management (MBA/PGDM) is highly desirable.

Work Experience

10+ years of dedicated purchase and procurement experience, with a substantial portion spent within Gas-Based Power Generation Plants (CCGT / Cogen).

Domain Expertise

Deep knowledge of Gas Turbine technologies, hot-gas-path components, HRSGs, natural gas supply chain, and LTSA contract structures.

Commercial Acumen

Mastery in legal/commercial terms (INCOTERMS, LC, Bank Guarantees, LDs), cost modeling, contract law, and OEM negotiation strategies.

Software & Tools

Hands-on expertise in ERP platforms (SAP MM / Oracle SCM) and e-procurement / e-tendering portals.

Soft Skills
