Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Clothing Technology, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years experience in fabric technology, textile testing, quality assurance, or similar role in apparel/textile.
• Good understanding of fabric construction, textile testing, dyeing and finishing processes, and garment manufacturing.
• Knowledge of textile compliance requirements, restricted substances, and product safety standards advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and approval of new fabric qualities meeting technical specs, performance standards, and critical path timelines.
• Review and approve bulk fabric submissions ensuring quality, appearance, colour continuity, and performance before bulk production.
• Conduct technical evaluations of fabric mills, laundries, and print plants assessing capability, environmental standards, and chemical management.
• Coordinate pre-production activities including risk analyses, fabric tolerance reviews, and technical handover meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Confirm care label requirements and ensure compliance with product safety regulations including REACH, restricted substances, and legal labelling.
• Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support monitoring of banned and restricted substances through supplier engagement, testing, and training.
• Collaborate with merchandising teams, suppliers, garment technologists, QA teams, and the UK technical team to resolve issues and meet NEXT quality standards.
