Job summary

Johnson Electric is seeking an Assistant Engineer - Stores in Chennai to ensure stock accuracy, coordinate material movements, and support production lines. The role emphasizes cycle counting, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and strict documentation.

You will work with Planning, Production, Procurement and Quality teams to resolve variances and improve warehouse efficiency. Candidates should have 2–5 years of Stores/inventory experience, with a focus on accurate record-keeping, adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining stock accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Knowledge of cycle counting and FIFO/FEFO practices.
• Adherence to safety and 5S standards in warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure physical stock matches system stock.
• Identify, analyze, and report inventory discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Procurement and Quality teams to support material availability.
• Maintain cycle count accuracy as per targets.
• Manage inward and outward material movements.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and identification of materials.
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
• Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
• Escalate critical stock issues on time.
• Inventory control and continuous improvement.
• Analyze root causes for stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
• Follow safety guidelines and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain 5S standards in warehouse/storage areas.
