Job summary

SANY Group's Process Engineering Institute in Pune is seeking an engineer to lead assembly process development and continuous improvement across our manufacturing lines. You will design and implement efficient assembly processes, establish standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality and productivity goals.

This role emphasizes hands-on engineering in machinery manufacturing, CAD proficiency, and wind turbine OEM experience or similar sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience in final assembly process engineering.
• Experience in wind turbine OEM assembly preferred.
• Strong process development and design capabilities.
• Proficiency in CAD and technical drawing software.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous process improvement and develop new assembly processes.
• Design assembly process plans and maintain process documentation and work instructions.
• Lead tooling, equipment, and consumables development and introduction.
• Establish standard labor hours and consumables usage standards.
• Lead process planning, capacity planning, and assembly layout design.
• Investigate and resolve process-related quality issues and drive CAPAs.

Job description

This position is part of the Process Engineering Institute and focuses on the development, planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive continuous process improvement and develop new assembly processes.
• Design assembly process plans and prepare, maintain, and optimize process documentation and work instructions.
• Lead the specification, evaluation, development, qualification, and introduction of tooling, equipment, and consumables.
• Establish and validate standard labor hours and consumables usage standards.
• Lead process planning, capacity planning, and production-line and workstation layout design.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve process-related quality issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Processing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience in final assembly process engineering within the machinery or equipment manufacturing industry.
• Experience in sub‑assembly or final assembly processes at a wind turbine OEM is preferred.
• Strong process development and process design capabilities.
• Proficiency in CAD and technical drawing software.
• Experience serving as the process engineering representative on wind turbine product development or new product introduction projects is preferred.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination skills, with a high level of ownership and accountability.
