Job summary

Nagarro is seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist for our financial markets domain in Gurugram. The role requires strong technical analysis skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to resolving incidents promptly.

You will support Unix/Linux environments, Java/J2EE applications, and multiple databases, while operating in a 24x7 shift model. Knowledge of cloud/on-prem, and ITIL practices is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support for financial markets platforms, focusing on futures, options, equity and derivatives.
• Analyze issues, perform rapid resolution, and translate technical details to business terms.
• Work in a global team with a follow-the-sun model, including weekend/public holiday rosters.
• Maintain documentation and adhere to ITIL Service Operations practices.
• Utilize ticketing systems like BMC Remedy or Jira Service Desk.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• At least 3 years’ experience providing application support, preferably on financial markets. A strong understanding of Futures and Options, equity and derivative markets would set you apart.
• Excellent communication skills, experience dealing with business customers and translating technology into business terms.
• Strong and wide-reaching technical skills enabling deep analysis and fast issue resolution, ideally you would have:
• Experienced with Unix / Linux systems.
• Support of applications running under Java/J2EE.
• Strong SQL ability and understanding of databases mainly Sybase, Oracle, Postgress, MSSQL.
• Supporting applications running in a cloud and on-prem environment.
• Understanding of basic networking and different file transfer methods (SFTP, MQ, API).
• A strong desire to learn and seek knowledge independently.
• Very strong problem definition & solving skills.
• A proactive and flexible approach to work.
• Thorough understanding of Incident, Problem and Change Management processes, experience in ITIL Service Operations or similar IT Operations framework.
• Experience in the use of BMC Remedy, Jira Service Desk or similar ticket handling system.
• The ability to work in a global team environment in a ‘follow the sun’ model which includes weekend and public holiday support on a roster and some out-of-hours working.
• A proven record of being able to work well under pressure to deliver tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard.
• The ability able to work independently as required.
• Good knowledge of health/alerting tools and tuning them to tighten environment control.
• Methodical and systematic approach to the preparation of documentation.
• Knowledge of order management platforms and trading business.
• Flexible to work in 24x7 rotational shifts from office.
