Job summary

Contango Services is seeking a senior support engineer to provide first and second line support for multiple trading systems. You will diagnose incidents, own Major Incident and Problem Management, and collaborate with development teams to prevent future issues.

Qualifications

• Experience in energy or commodity trading environments.
• At least 8 years on a support desk responsible for critical production applications.
• Experience managing incidents and service requests with timely updates to business users.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of technology to add value in maintenance, scripting and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second line support for several systems in the trading support domain.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation of support processes; prepare operational stats to identify problematic areas and drive improvements.
• Be flexible with work timings (India and UK hours) with on-call support on rotation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of Major Incident management and associated Problem Management process.
• Ensure systems are in a healthy status and proactively identify patterns that can cause issues in future.Liaise with development teams for escalations and hand-
  oversMaintain an up-to-date documentation of support processesPrepare operational
  stats to identify problematic areas in the systems and work towards improving
  systems.Should be flexible with work timings (India and UK hours) along with
  providing on-call support on rotation basis.

Required Experience:

• Evident systems analysis skills ideally garnered within an energy, commodity or similar trading environment.
• Atleast 8 years of experience on a support desk responsible for critical production applications.
• Experience managing incidents and service requests while providing timely status updates to business users.
• Should have excellent written/verbal communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Should have a good understanding of technology to be able to add value in maintenance/scripting and system and process improvements in general.
