Job summary

The LHR Group in Mumbai is seeking an Application Engineering professional to oversee technical applications for steel products, aligning with customer needs and delivering effective product solutions.

You will drive product and process development, lead a cross‑functional team, mentor engineers, and push continuous improvement through technical excellence and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical application engineering for steel products by understanding customer requirements and providing suitable product/applications solutions.
• Drive product development, trials, and optimization of steel grades and processes in collaboration with R&D, Production, Quality, and Sales teams.
• Engage customers to identify application opportunities, resolve technical issues, and support new product approvals and conversions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, yield enhancement, and cost reduction through application engineering initiatives.
• Lead and mentor the application engineering team, establish technical standards, and coordinate with Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and customers to meet business objectives.

We are looking for Application Engineering professional who will oversee application engineering for steel products, driving customer engagement, product and process development, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Application & Technical Support: Lead technical application engineering for steel products, understanding customer requirements and providing suitable product/application solutions.
• Product & Process Development: Drive product development, trials, application improvement, and optimization of steel grades/processes in collaboration with R&D, Production, Quality, and Sales teams.
• Customer & Market Development: Work closely with key customers to identify application opportunities, resolve technical issues, conduct plant visits/trials, and support new product approvals and conversions.
• Technical Excellence & Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, yield enhancement, cost reduction, and improvement in product performance through application engineering initiatives.
• Team & Stakeholder Management: Lead and mentor the application engineering team, establish technical standards and best practices, and coordinate with Sales, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and customers to achieve business objectives.
