Job summary

Versigent in Pune, India is seeking a design engineer to lead value analysis and develop wiring harness systems for automotive applications. You will work across concept design, prototyping, testing, and validation, using CAD tools to create detailed layouts.

You will manage changes, use PLM to control documentation, and oversee BOM accuracy and communication with suppliers, ensuring adherence to internal standards and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct value analysis and value engineering activities to optimize product design, improve functionality, and reduce costs.
• Lead and contribute to the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications.
• Utilize CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks to create detailed wiring harness designs.
• Manage design changes throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to change control processes and procedures.
• Generate and release engineering drawings, schematics, and charts in accordance with internal standards and industry regulations.
• Participate in all phases of product development, including concept design, prototyping, testing, and validation.
• Utilize PLM software to manage product data, documentation, and revisions throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage the BOM for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering specifications.
• Coordinate changes to the BOM and communicate updates to relevant teams and suppliers.
