Job summary

Aptiv in Pune, India seeks engineers to optimize product design through value analysis and value engineering, focusing on automotive wiring harness systems. You will design harnesses with CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks while managing changes and ensuring compliance with standards.

Active involvement across concept, prototype, testing, and validation phases is expected. Proficiency in PLM and BOM management will support engineering data, drawings, and revisions throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive wiring harness design.
• Proficiency with CAD tools CATIA, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with PLM systems and BOM management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct value analysis and value engineering to optimize product design and reduce costs.
• Lead and contribute to the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications.
• Create wiring harness designs using CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
• Manage design changes through the product development lifecycle and change control processes.
• Generate and release engineering drawings, schematics, and charts per standards.
• Participate in all phases of product development: concept, prototyping, testing, validation.
• Use PLM software to manage product data and revisions.
• Manage BOM for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specs.
• Coordinate BOM changes and communicate updates to teams and suppliers.

Major Accountabilities: Conduct value analysis and value engineering activities to optimize product design, improve functionality, and reduce costs. Lead and contribute to the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications. Utilize CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks to create detailed wiring harness designs. Manage design changes throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to change control processes and procedures. Generate and release engineering drawings, schematics, and charts in accordance with internal standards and industry regulations. Participate in all phases of product development, including concept design, prototyping, testing, and validation. Utilize PLM software to manage product data, documentation, and revisions throughout the product lifecycle. Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering specifications. Coordinate changes to the BOM and communicate updates to relevant teams and suppliers.
