Job summary

• Ensure harness routing meets packaging, manufacturability, safety.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Packaging, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including BOM and design releases.
• Support design validation and engineering changes.
• Ensure compliance with OEM standards, GD&T, and automotive guidelines.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Design Engineer with hands-on experience in Wiring Harness Design, CATIA, and Vehicle Layoutfor automotive product development. The ideal candidate should have experience in routing and packaging of wiring harnesses, component integration, and vehicle-level electrical architecture while ensuring compliance with OEM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automotive wiring harnesses using CATIA V5(Electrical Harness Design/Installation workbench preferred).
• Perform vehicle layout and packagingactivities for wiring harness routing and electrical components.
• Create and modify 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and installation layouts.
• Ensure proper harness routing considering packaging, manufacturability, serviceability, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Mechanical, Packaging, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including BOM, drawings, and design release documents.
• Support design validation, issue resolution, and engineering change management activities.
• Ensure compliance with OEM standards, GD&T, and automotive design guidelines.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong experience in CATIA V5.
• Experience in Wiring Harness Designand routing.
• Experience in Vehicle Layout / Vehicle Packaging.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and harness installation.
• Ability to create 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Understanding of BOM, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
• Knowledge of GD&T and DFMEA.
• Exposure to EV or ICE vehicle development projects.
• Understanding of automotive development lifecycle and OEM processes.
