Job summary

Single Window Consulting in India is seeking an experienced automotive design engineer to lead sunroof system development from concept through production. You will model in CATIA V5 and prepare 2D drawings while engaging with customers for reviews and requirements.

Ideal candidates will bring DFMEA/GD&T knowledge,APQP/PPAP experience, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality and purchasing to validate feasibility and timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive sunroof design or related mechatronic components.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 Part Design, Assembly, Surfacing and Drafting.
• Strong knowledge of automotive design standards, GD&T and DFMEA.
• Good communication and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and customer interactions independently.

• Interface with customers for design reviews, requirements and changes.
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V5 per specs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality and purchasing for validation and feasibility.
• Support DFMEA, DVP&R and design validation processes.

Required Skills

• Experience in automotive product design, specifically sunroof systems or similar mechatronic components.
  
• Proficient in CATIA V5 Part Design, Assembly, Surfacing, and Drafting.
  
• Strong knowledge of automotive design standards, GD&T, and DFMEA.
  
• Good communication and project management skills.
  
• Ability to handle multiple projects and customer interactions independently.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of automotive sunroof systems from concept to production.
  
• Interface directly with customers for design reviews, requirement gathering, and engineering changes.
  
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 as per customer and internal specifications.
  
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and purchasing for design validation and feasibility.
  
• Support prototype development, DFMEA, DVP&R and design validation processes.
  
• Ensure all design activities comply with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
  
• Participate in APQP and PPAP documentation processes.
  
• Manage BOM creation and Engineering Change Management (ECM).
  
• Track project timelines and ensure milestone achievements as per program plan.
