Job summary

Vodafone Idea Limited is seeking an AGM - OSS & Tools (Lead – Server Ops) in Pune. You will lead end-to-end infrastructure operations spanning data centers, cloud, storage, backup, and database platforms, while driving automation, governance, and service improvements.

You will manage OpenShift/Kubernetes, patching cycles, and ensure security compliance, along with collaboration with partners and internal stakeholders to meet SLAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science or related field.
• 5–12 years of experience in Infrastructure Operations, Platform Engineering, Storage, Database, or Cloud Operations.
• Minimum 3–5 years of people management experience.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise, telecom infrastructure, managing partners & OEMs.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT infrastructure operations across compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud environments.
• Oversee database platforms: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL; ensure availability and performance.
• Manage Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker; lifecycle management and upgrades.
• Drive ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and release processes.
• Develop governance frameworks and standard operating procedures for operations.

Job Purpose

• Infrastructure Operations is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of Infrastructure platforms supporting business-critical applications and services. The role leads infrastructure operations across data center, cloud, storage, backup, database, virtualization, and container platforms while driving operational excellence, automation, governance, and continuous service improvement, collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners, and ensure adherence to SLA’s, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

• Infrastructure Operations Management
• Lead and manage IT infrastructure operations across compute, storage, virtualization, database, backup, and cloud environments.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and operational stability of infrastructure services.
• Drive Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes in line with ITIL framework.
• Review infrastructure health, risks, capacity, and service performance on a regular basis.
• Ensure timely resolution of critical incidents and minimize business impact.
• Develop and implement operational governance frameworks and standard operating procedures.

• Cloud Platform operation & Database Management
• Manage Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP), Kubernetes, Docker, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure platform lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and technology refresh activities are executed successfully.
• Oversee operational management of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, and other enterprise database platforms.
• Ensure database availability, backup, performance optimization, security compliance.

• Storage, Backup, Disaster Recovery, Security & Risk Compliance
• Manage enterprise storage platforms including SAN, NAS, NFS, Object Storage, and Distributed Storage systems.
• Ensure backup success, data recoverability, and business continuity readiness with Vodafone Idea security policies and regulatory requirements
• Lead Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and execution activities.
• Support internal and external audits and address compliance observation.
