Axis Max Life Insurance Limited in Madurai is seeking an Agency Development Manager to recruit, onboarding, and develop agency partners to drive life insurance growth in the region. You will plan sales strategies, guide agency teams to meet targets, and monitor performance metrics.

The role requires strong leadership, training/coaching, and compliance with regulations, with local travel as needed. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in the Greater Madurai Area.

Qualifications

• Strong sales, business development, and agency/channel management skills, with a proven ability to drive revenue and meet distribution targets.
• Experience in life insurance or financial services, including understanding of protection and long-term savings products and regulatory norms.
• Effective people management, team leadership, and coaching abilities to recruit, train, and motivate agency partners and advisors.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to engage customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Analytical and planning skills for territory management, performance tracking, and implementation of sales strategies.
• Comfort with basic digital tools and CRM or sales tracking systems for reporting and managing agency operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (MBA or similar) is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a similar managerial or field development role within insurance or banking is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in the Greater Madurai Area, with readiness for local travel within the territory as needed.
