Position: Admission Counsellor

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

IMA Jodhpur is looking for a confident, knowledgeable and result-oriented Admission Counsellor to handle student and parent enquiries, conduct counselling sessions and convert prospective students into admissions.

The candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong counselling abilities and a genuine understanding of the education and competitive-examination sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle enquiries through phone calls, WhatsApp, walk-ins and other channels.
  • Conduct counselling sessions with students and parents and understand their academic requirements and career goals.
  • Explain courses, batch structures, academic methodology, test series, study plans and institute facilities.
  • Guide students regarding appropriate batch selection based on their class, academic level and preparation requirements.
  • Explain fees, scholarships, hostel, mess, study facilities, batch timings and admission procedures.
  • Handle questions and concerns raised by students and parents and provide accurate information.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with prospective students and parents.
  • Convert qualified leads into admissions through effective counselling and follow-up.
  • Maintain proper records of leads, counselling sessions, follow-ups and admission status.
  • Assist students and parents throughout the admission and documentation process.
  • Participate in seminars, school visits, scholarship tests, admission campaigns and counselling events.
  • Coordinate with the academic and management teams whenever required.
  • Prepare daily/monthly reports related to enquiries, follow-ups and admissions.
  • Ensure that information provided to students and parents is accurate and updated.
Mandatory Knowledge

The candidate must have in-depth and updated knowledge of NEET and JEE, including:

  • NEET UG, JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
  • Eligibility criteria and examination pattern.
  • Syllabus, marking scheme and important examination guidelines.
  • Preparation strategies for Class 11, Class 12 and Dropper students.
  • Medical and engineering career pathways.
  • Admission and counselling procedures.
  • Relevant changes and updates in competitive examinations.
  • General understanding of board examinations in relation to entrance-exam preparation.

The candidate should be capable of confidently answering student and parent queries related to competitive examinations and guiding them appropriately.

  • Good counselling, convincing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent listening and follow-up abilities.
  • Target-oriented and result-driven approach.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets, WhatsApp and basic CRM/ERP systems.

  • Ability to handle multiple enquiries and follow-ups efficiently.
Qualification & Experience
  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • 1–3 years of experience in educational counselling, admissions, sales or a similar role preferred.
  • Experience in a NEET/JEE coaching institute, school, ed-tech company or education counselling role will be an advantage.
  • Candidates with strong communication skills and relevant competitive-examination knowledge may also be considered.

Punctuality & Professional Conduct
  • Punctuality is mandatory. The candidate must report to the office on time as per assigned working hours.
  • Regular late arrival or leaving early without prior approval will not be acceptable.
  • Proper attendance and professional discipline are expected.
  • During admission seasons, scholarship tests and special events, the candidate may be required to work according to institute requirements.
  • The candidate must maintain a professional, respectful and positive working environment.
