Job summary

Roots Recruitment in Mumbai Suburban, India seeks a qualified accountant to manage end-to-end accounting, GST, tax, audits, and client coordination from our Mumbai office.

You will supervise junior staff, maintain compliance calendars, and ensure timely and accurate completion of assignments across GST and statutory filings, while upholding professional standards and client service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping and ledger reconciliations.
• Finalise books of accounts and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C returns.
• Ensure accurate GST compliance and timely filing of returns.
• Prepare and file Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for individuals, firms, LLPs and companies.
• Handle tax computations and related statutory compliance.
• Perform TDS computations challan payments and quarterly return filings, including Forms 24Q, 26Q and 27Q.
• Conduct internal audits and assist in statutory audits, tax audits and GST audits.
• Maintain audit documentation and supporting records.
• Guide, delegate and review the work of junior team members.
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with clients for document collection, data requirements and query resolution.
• Maintain effective client relationships and ensure timely delivery of assignments.
• Maintain compliance calendars and monitor statutory filing and payment deadlines.
• Coordinate with the Proprietor regarding assignments, client requirements, deadlines and critical matters.
• Manage multiple assignments efficiently while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Accounting & Finalisation
