Responsibilities

Position Title: Academic Grade Coordinator

Department: Academic

Reports To: Principal / Vice Principal

Role Summary:

The Academic Grade Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of teaching, curriculum execution, and academic quality within their assigned grades. This role acts as a direct liaison between subject teachers and the Head of School, focusing exclusively on the academic lifecycle, syllabus tracking, teaching methodologies, and student academic performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Syllabus & Curriculum Tracking

• Monitor and track the pace of syllabus completion across all subjects within the assigned grades to ensure alignment with the academic calendar.


• Conduct regular lesson plan reviews to verify that teachers are covering required learning objectives on schedule.


• Identify delays or gaps in syllabus coverage early and work with teachers to create effective catch-up plans.

2. Quality of Teaching & Pedagogy

• Perform periodic classroom observations to evaluate teaching practices, student engagement, and classroom delivery.


• Ensure teachers are using interactive, student-centric teaching methodologies and modern pedagogical tools.


• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to teachers to continuously improve instructional quality.

3. Academic Reporting to Head of School

• Submit weekly/monthly academic progress reports directly to the Head of School detailing syllabus completion status, teaching observations, and academic challenges.


• Highlight specific academic concerns regarding subject performance, curriculum gaps, or resource requirements.

4. Student Academic Performance & Assessments

• Oversee the scheduling, quality, and execution of internal assessments, unit tests, and term examinations.


• Analyze academic results and student performance metrics to identify learning trends and areas needing remedial action.


• Coordinate remedial teaching or enrichment programs for low-performing or high-achieving students.

5. Faculty Mentorship & Academic Coordination

• Lead regular department/grade-level academic meetings with teachers to resolve academic issues and share best practices.


• Assist in onboarding and orienting new teaching staff regarding the schools curriculum guidelines and academic standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• 100% On-Time Syllabus Completion: Achievement of syllabus milestones as per the academic planner.


• Instructional Excellence: High standards of teaching delivery observed during classroom audits.


• Academic Outcome Improvement: Measurable improvement in student assessment scores and learning outcomes.


• Timely Reporting: On-time submission of accurate academic progress reports to the Head of School.
