Job summary

Kanan International in Chennai is seeking an Academic Counselor to guide students and parents on courses, careers, and learning pathways. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, follow up on leads, and coordinate with admissions and operations to ensure smooth enrollment.

The role requires Tamil fluency, basic Hindi, and strong communication, counseling, and relationship-management skills. Bachelor’s degree preferred; EdTech or education industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in academic or admission counseling, inside sales, or EdTech sales.
• Male candidates preferred.
• Fluent in Tamil; basic Hindi required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship skills.
• Familiarity with CRM tools and Microsoft Office is a plus.

• Counsel prospective students and parents regarding courses, career paths, and learning opportunities.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls to generate and convert admissions.
• Understand students' educational goals and recommend suitable programs.
• Follow up with leads through calls, emails, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
• Build strong relationships with prospective learners and maintain regular engagement.
• Achieve monthly admission and revenue targets.
• Maintain accurate lead and student records in the CRM system.
• Coordinate with the admissions and operations teams to ensure a smooth enrollment process.
• Resolve learner queries promptly and provide exceptional customer service.
• Stay updated on course offerings, industry trends, and competitor activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 to 5 years of experience in Academic Counseling, Admission Counseling, Inside Sales, or EdTech Sales.
• Male candidates are preferred.
• Fluent in Tamil, as the role is based in Chennai.
• Basic communication skills in Hindi, with the ability to understand and converse comfortably.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong counseling, persuasion, and relationship-management abilities.
• Familiarity with CRM tools and Microsoft Office is an advantage.
• Goal-oriented with the ability to achieve admission and sales targets.
• Positive attitude, strong learning mindset, and willingness to grow within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Prior experience in the EdTech, Education, Training, or Learning & Development industry is preferred.
• Experience handling student counseling and admissions will be an added advantage.
