COMSOL is seeking an Applications Engineer to join the Applications team in Bengaluru, India. You will work with academic presales and support users of the COMSOL Multiphysics software, expanding your technical proficiency across engineering disciplines.

The role involves participating in discovery calls, demonstrating software, conducting webinars, and providing front-end support for a variety of multiphysics applications. Travel within India is expected to engage customers and run events.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering or physics with 1+ year of experience in modeling real-world applications based on numerical methods.
  • Demonstrated experience or academic project work involving simulations.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • This is an in-office position.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in discovery calls with sales to provide technical input and assess feasibility of applications.
  • Demonstrate COMSOL software, summarize features in web meetings, and support customers in modeling applications.
  • Participate in webinars, workshops, and other events for marketing and sales.
  • Provide front-end support for customers using COMSOL software for multiphysics applications.
  • Run introductory training courses and engage in technical discussions.
  • Travel within India to current and potential customers for events and activities.

Be a Part of Simulating Future Innovations

COMSOL is seeking an Applications Engineer to joinApplications team to work with academic presales andsupport the users of the COMSOL® software.

As a successful applicant, you are expected to have a well-rounded education within an engineering or scientific disciplineand experience with simulating technical applications with abasic awareness of all the major physics. With this basis, youwill be expected to develop your technical proficiency in newareas of science and engineering as you help COMSOL's userssimulate their future innovations and ideas.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in discovery calls along with salepersonnel to provide technical input and assess the feasibilityof applications for prospective clients
  • Demonstrate the use of COMSOL® software, summarize itsfeatures in web meetings, and support prospective customerson the modeling of their applications
  • Participate in publicly held web-based workshops, webinars, and other marketing and sales events
  • Provide front-end support for customers on the use of the COMSOL® software for a variety of Multiphysics applications involving multiple engineering disciplines
  • Run Introductory training courses along with the technicaldiscussion
  • A willingness and ability to travel to current and potentialcustomers to run COMSOL® sponsored events and activities inIndia
Minimum Qualifications
  • A master's degree in engineering or physics with one year or more of experience in modeling real-world applications based on numerical methods
  • Demonstrated experience or academic project work involving simulations
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills on the phone, in person, and in writing. Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
  • This is an in-office position
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in engineering or physics with one year or more of experience in modeling based on numerical methods, such as FEM, that has been gained as part of project work at a commercial organization, government research facility, or university
  • Should have experience in handling sales support withcustomers
  • Strong background in engineering with a deep understanding of the underlying physics, such as fluid flow, heat transfer, structural mechanics, acoustics, etc
  • Experience working with COMSOL® software
