Job summary

COMSOL seeks a Technical Sales Engineer to join the academic sales team in Bengaluru. You will inform, sell, and support engineers, scientists, and academicians on the usefulness of COMSOL software for simulations.

Key duties include qualifying leads, participating in customer meetings and events, negotiating licensing terms, and supporting evaluations with applications engineers. Travel within India will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a physical science.
  • Two years of prior sales experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sell in premier academic institutions in India.
  • Qualify leads and identify simulation requirements through meetings and demos.
  • Participate in on-site and web-based meetings, workshops and events.
  • Explain licensing models and negotiate terms with procurement/legal as needed.
  • Assist customers in evaluating COMSOL software with applications engineers.
  • Travel for limited periods to meet current and potential customers in India to run COMSOL events.

COMSOL is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join theacademic sales team in the Bengaluru office who will be able to inform, sell, support engineers, scientists and academicians on the usefulness of simulation using COMSOL® software.

Primary Responsibility
  • Sales in premier academic institutions.
Pre-Sales Leads Qualification and Prospect Support
  • Use your insight, communication skills, and technicalacumen to proactively qualify leads marked as prospectivecustomers.
  • Methodically identify and qualify simulation requirementsfor prospective customers through meetings and demonstrations.
  • Participate in onsite and web-based customermeetings, workshops, and other marketing/sales eventsarranged by the team.
  • Articulate business cases for the unique capabilitiesoffered by COMSOL, explain licensing models, and helpnegotiate terms and conditions with legal and procurementdepartments wherever necessary.
  • Support working with prospective customers onevaluations of the COMSOL® software, or facilitatesuch evaluations through working in collaboration withCOMSOL applications engineers.
  • Have the willingness and ability to travel for limitedperiods of time to meet current and potential customersin order to run COMSOL-sponsored events and activitiesin India.
Post-Sales Support and Customer Relations Management
  • Promote effective technical support together withCOMSOL applications engineers on the use of theCOMSOL® software for customers’ applications.
  • Communicate with existing customers on a regularbasis to manage their relationship with COMSOL,keeping them informed about new features andtechnology in the COMSOL® software, as well asevents and other useful activities.
  • Find new opportunities to sell existing and newCOMSOL® software and technology to existingcustomers, their colleagues and other departmentswithin their organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's/master’s degree in engineering, physics,applied mathematics, or a physical science. Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical.
  • Prior sales experience for a minimum of two years.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Sales experience in academics preferred.
  • Coursework based on the following or its equivalent: Computational analyses, modeling, and simulations through numerical methods, such as the Finite Element Method (FEM/FEA), to be used in applications, such as fluid mechanics, transport phenomena, structural mechanics, chemical engineering, applied physics or mathematics.

You will see and participate inthe development and operation of many and variedcutting-edge new technologies. As a sales engineer,you will work with some of the most preeminentengineers and scientists in their respective fields,who are simulating innovations and ideas for the future.
