Job summary

CoAction West Cork is recruiting Waking Night Support Worker(s) for Skibbereen Residential Services on a permanent contract. Hours: either 1 x 39 hpw or 2 x 20 hpw, with Sunday premium and Saturday allowance. Closing date: 23 October 2026.

Base: Adult Services Centre/community. Responsible to supervisors and a Social Care Leader. Role involves supporting adults with intellectual disability and autism, contributing to programmes, maintaining safety, and promoting independence.

Qualifications

• Essential QQI (FETAC) level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent.
• Full Clean Irish Drivers Licence for manual vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver programmes under guidance from the Community Access Facilitator/Social Care Leader.
• Respect each service user’s individuality and communication needs.
• Maintain dignity, respect, and a friendly, supportive environment.
• Support personal care (clothing, feeding, toileting, hygiene) as required.
• Report accidents, incidents and complaints promptly.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team and liaise with staff.
