Job summary

CoAction West Cork is seeking a Social Care Worker for Castletownbere Day and Residential Services on a permanent contract of 24.5 hours per week. The role includes day-to-day group home activities, health and safety, and liaison with families, with Saturday allowance and Sunday premium.

You will support residents with intellectual disabilities, implement individual plans, and contribute to a warm, respectful home environment in line with HIQA standards.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification that involves a third level supervised practice element to the course.
• Youth and Community Degree; BA & Hdip; NQSW/BSW/MSW; Nursing Qualification; social care diplomas as listed.

Responsibilities

• To take responsibility for the day-to-day activities in the group home.
• To assist the social care leader in health and safety, programme implementation, personal care plans, budget management, staff planning and family liaison.
• To listen to, learn from and support residents to achieve their priorities in line with national standards.
