Job summary

CoAction West Cork invites applications for Children's Services Support Workers. Permanent roles offer flexible hours: either 2 x 35 hpw or 3 x 23 hpw, including waking nights, Saturday allowance and Sunday premium.

Based in Dunmanway, with a closing date of 9 November 2026, roles may form a 12-month panel for future positions. The job focuses on providing care for children with intellectual disability, enabling home and community integration, with duties adjusted to individual needs and

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent is required.
• Full Irish driving licence is essential.
• Qualification in Child Care, Social Studies, or Disability Studies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the child in home, community and respite settings.
• Meet individual care needs with a focus on health and safety.
• Treat children and families with respect in line with CoAction ethos.
• Encourage participation in day-to-day activities and hobbies.
• Escort and assist on social outings in the local community.
• Maintain health and safety guidelines and keep the manager informed.
