Job summary

CPL Group is seeking Social Care Workers for a trauma-informed service in Donegal. You will work with children aged 13–17, supporting attachments, relationships, and overall wellbeing within a therapeutic environment.

You will be part of a team delivering holistic care, with responsibilities for care plans, health and safety, and collaboration with families and professionals. CORU registration is required.

Qualifications

• Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU.
• Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration.
• Be eligible for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU (evidence of application will be necessary).
• Have the requisite knowledge and ability for proper discharge of duties.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans and record keeping.
• Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person within the Service.
• Promote welfare (physical, emotional, social, religious) of each young person in care.
• Encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments.
• Organise personal documents, arrangements, information, and finances for the young person.
• Liaise with parents, family, general services, and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
• Attend meetings related to care and developments of the young person.
• Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person.
• Engage in physical intervention in line with local policies and procedures.
• Promote participation of children and young people in decision making.
• Prepare well balanced meals in conjunction with the young people.
• Undertake home management tasks including household budget, upkeep and cleaning
• Attend team meetings and report to the Social Care Leader/Manager on progress
• Make written/verbal reports on the young person’s development to the Social Care Leader/Manager.
• Ensure HIQA and child protection procedures are followed.
