Job summary

CPL Healthcare seeks Social Care Worker for a trauma-informed service in Mullingar, County Mullingar. You will work in a team delivering holistic care to young people aged 13–17, supporting care plans, attendance at school, and engagement in activities.

The role involves maintaining records, liaising with families and agencies, participating in meetings, and upholding safeguarding/HIQA standards. CORU registration or a CORU-approved qualification is required, with evidence of application as

Qualifications

• Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU or hold a CORU approved qualification and have applied for CORU registration
• Be eligible for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU (evidence of application will be necessary)
• Have the requisite knowledge and ability for proper discharge of the duties of the office

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans and ensure recording of same
• Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person
• Promote welfare of each young person in care
• Encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments
• Organise personal documents, arrangements, information, and finances for the young person
• Liaise with parent, family, general services, and other agencies
• Attend meetings related to care and developments of the young person
• Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person
• Engage in physical intervention where in keeping with local policies
• Promote participation of children and young people in decisions
• Prepare healthy meals with the young people
• Undertake home management including budget, upkeep and cleaning
• Attend team meetings and report to Social Care Leader/Manager
• Make written and verbal reports on progress
• Ensure HIQA compliance and current legislation knowledge
• Undertake ongoing professional training and development
• Comply with policies, procedures, guidelines and safe practice
