Job summary

Cpl Group in County Limerick is seeking a Social Care Worker to join a Tusla service delivering a trauma-informed model of care for young people aged 13 to 17. The role involves working as part of a team to provide robust, holistic care and to support development within a therapeutic environment.

You will participate in care planning, promote the welfare of each young person, attend meetings, and maintain accurate records, while upholding safeguarding and HIQA standards.

Qualifications

  • Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU.
  • Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary).
  • Be eligible for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU (evidence of application will be necessary).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans and ensure appropriate recording.
  • Promote rights and responsibilities of each child/young person within the service.
  • Promote physical, emotional, social and religious welfare of each young person in care.
  • Encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments.
  • Organise personal documents, arrangements, information and finance for the young person.
  • Liaise with parent, family, general services and other agencies for the young person.
  • Attend meetings related to care and developments of the young person.
  • Engage in age-appropriate play and activities; engage in physical intervention per policy.
