Job summary

Social Care Worker role in County Mullingar with a new Tusla service delivering a trauma-informed model of care for young people aged 13 to 17. You will work as part of a team of Social Care professionals to deliver holistic care and build positive attachments in a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing care plans, promoting welfare, liaising with families and agencies, supporting education and health appointments, and contributing to policy and safety

Qualifications

• Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU.
• Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration.
• Be eligible for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU (evidence of application required).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans with proper recording of progress.
• Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person in the service.
• Promote physical, emotional, social and religious welfare of each young person.
• Encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments.
• Organise personal documents, arrangements, information, and finances for the young person.
• Liaise with parents, family, general services and agencies on behalf of the young person.
• Attend meetings regarding care and developments of the young person.
• Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person.
