Job summary

Jobtailor in Ireland is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to coordinate shipments, plan routes, and ensure SLAs are met. You will liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to optimise resources and maintain compliance with EU regulations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in transport planning, strong IT skills (Office 365, SharePoint), and a proven ability to communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in transport planning or logistics coordination.
• Experience in logistics including white glove services is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office 365 and MS SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Plan shipments and routes to meet client SLAs.
• Ensure compliance with EU working time and road safety regulations.
• Monitor in-transit shipments and provide updates.
• Update milestones according to SLAs.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Report schedules to clients and teams accurately.
• Manage proofs of delivery and activity.
• Plan vehicle and maintenance schedules.
• Plan workloads for drivers to minimise empty runs.
• Work with planning team and cross-train colleagues.
• Assist accounts for accurate billing.
• Maintain FB and L15 trackers.
• Process customer emails and booking steps.
• Close out jobs in Stratum system.

Job description

• Plan shipments and routes to ensure effective use of resources while meeting client SLAs.


• Ensure compliance with EU working time and road safety regulations.


• Monitor in-transit shipments and provide updates to colleagues and customers.


• Update milestones according to SLAs.


• Liaise with subcontractors, overseas offices, staff, clients, operations, and field teams.


• Coordinate with clients’ supply chain functions to meet and accurately report schedules.


• Respond to changing customer demands and communicate customer requirements.


• Manage proofs of delivery and activity.


• Plan vehicle and trailer maintenance schedules.


• Plan workloads and reloading for drivers and vehicles to minimize empty running.


• Work within a planning team and cross-train colleagues.


• Liaise with accounts to ensure accurate billing.


• Maintain FB and L15 trackers accurately and promptly.


• Process customer emails, booking emails, and checklist steps according to procedures.


• Close out jobs in the Stratum internal system.


• Perform other duties aligned with skills and competencies.

Requirements

• Substantial experience transport planning for 3+ years.


• Experience in the logistics industry, including white glove services.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Excellent IT skills, including Office 365 and Microsoft Office.


• Full understanding of EU Working Time Directive, Digital Tachograph regulations and other relevant regulations.


• Working knowledge of a European language would be an advantage.


• Experience of MS SharePoint in a corporate environment would be an advantage.


• Updated resume/CV submitted in English.
