Job summary

Inclusion IQ LTD is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team in Ballymount, Dublin. The role focuses on managing daily haulier operations within a Cold Chain distribution network across Ireland, optimising temperature-controlled freight, and ensuring efficient supply chain execution.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in transport planning or logistics scheduling, strong IT skills including TMS and telematics, and a proactive, collaborative approach to improve service

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Transport Planner or Logistics Scheduler role, ideally within Cold Chain or FTL/Groupage haulage.
• Advanced IT skills with experience in TMS, telematics, and data analysis.
• Excellent time management and structured work approach to meet tight timetables.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Strategically assign customer orders to transport resources for cost-effective solutions.
• Plan and schedule shipments with precise booking dates while complying with driver hours.
• Ensure on-time in full delivery performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with drivers, internal teams and customers.
• Use the TMS to create delivery schedules and generate reports.
• Collaborate with Customer Services and Sales to resolve delivery issues.
• Coordinate with Sales to verify Order Information and SKU details.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational performance in the supply chain.
• Demonstrate flexibility to meet 24/7 shift demands.

Transport Planner | Specialist in Cold Chain Logistics

Butterfly Shift: You'll work a rotational schedule: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday/ Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday 8-8pm

The Role

As the Transport Planner, you will be pivotal in managing the daily haulier operations within the distribution network. This role involves optimising the movement of temperature controlled freight and ensuring highly efficient supply chain execution across Ireland. Responsibilities

• Strategically assign customer sales orders to transport resources, focusing on the most cost effective Full Truck Load and Groupage solutions for delivery.
• Plan and assign Shipment Orders (SORs), confirming precise booking dates and ensuring compliance with all transport legislation and driver hours regulations.
• Strive to ensure all customer delivery requests are met, paying close attention to on time in full delivery metrics.
• Maintain strong working relationships with drivers, internal teams, and customers, often dealing with high volume communications.
• Utilise (TMS) to create precise delivery schedules and analytical reports for various departments.
• Proactively liaise with Customer Services and Sales to rapidly identify and resolve issues affecting agreed delivery times
• Collaborate with the Sales team to ensure accurate Order Information and Stock Keeping Unit details are correct before scheduling freight movement.
• Continuously identify and suggest ways to improve operational performance and service delivery within the supply chain.
• Proven experience in a Transport Planner or Logistics Scheduler role, ideally within Cold Chain or FTL/Groupage haulage.
• Exceptional geographical knowledge of the Ireland distribution networks.
• Advanced IT skills are mandatory; experience with digital operations, TMS systems, telematics, and data analysis is highly valued.
• Strong working knowledge of transport legislation, including EU Working Time Directive and Driver CPC.
• Excellent time management and ability to work in a structured manner, adhering to tight timetable requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex operational challenges and make sound decisions quickly.
• A flexible and resilient attitude to working hours and shift patterns is required to meet the demands of a 24/7 supply chain.
