Job summary

Arcon Recruitment Services is seeking a Trade Sales Advisor for a builders’ providers business based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. You will work with trade customers, contractors and the public, offering product advice, processing orders and supporting daily counter operations.

Key responsibilities include handling enquiries, building relationships with tradespeople, preparing quotations, and meeting sales targets while ensuring stock availability and a tidy, welcoming counter area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a builders’ providers, hardware, construction or trade sales environment would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of building materials or construction products.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• A practical approach to solving problems and responding to customer enquiries.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confidence using computers to process orders, quotations and stock information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn about the company’s product range.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with enquiries about building materials, hardware and related products.
• Build strong relationships with tradespeople, contractors and other customers.
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions.
• Prepare quotations, process sales orders and maintain accurate sales records.
• Follow up on customer enquiries and identify opportunities to develop sales.
• Work towards agreed sales and margin targets.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and replenishing products.
• Liaise with suppliers and colleagues to check product availability and delivery arrangements.
• Keep the trade counter and display areas tidy, well stocked and welcoming.
• Work closely with the branch team to ensure customers receive a reliable service.
• Follow company procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
