Job summary

Arcon Recruitment Services is seeking a Trade Counter Salesperson for a well-established business based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. You will serve trade and retail customers, provide expert product guidance, and prepare quotations for new projects.

The role involves processing orders, maintaining stock, and building strong relationships with contractors and trade customers. Full driving licence desirable; permanent full-time position with excellent development prospects.

Qualifications

• Experience in builders' merchants, hardware, construction supplies or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and construction products.
• Experience preparing quotations and costings for projects.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good IT skills with ERP or sales systems.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a busy team.
• Full driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers at the trade counter.
• Provide product advice and technical guidance on building materials and construction products.
• Prepare quotations and costings for new jobs and projects.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders and trade customers.
• Source products and liaise with suppliers where required.
• Follow up on quotations and convert enquiries into sales.
• Process deliveries and customer collections.
• Maintain stock levels and assist with stock control.
• Work closely with warehouse and sales teams to ensure excellent customer service.
• Keep up to date with new products and industry developments.
• Ensure the trade counter is well organised and professionally presented.
