Qualifications

• Experience as a Test Manager or Senior Test Lead in complex technology or regulated environments.

Role Overview

The Digital Asset & Financial Markets team is delivering a broad portfolio of multi-year initiatives focused on developing new infrastructure, products and client capabilities across the evolving digital asset landscape.

The portfolio includes onboarding digital asset platforms and establishing complementary capabilities across digital cash and asset tokenisation, including the use of public blockchain technology. The team is also developing and implementing new use cases across these platforms, alongside continued research and delivery activity in areas such as digital cash and stablecoins.

The Test Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that solutions are delivered to a high standard, with appropriate levels of quality, control and risk management. The role will lead testing activity across multiple workstreams, working closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Scrum Masters, Project Managers and business stakeholders.

Delivery will include vendor onboarding, legal and operational readiness, definition of delivery timelines, and application of established runbooks and playbooks from previous implementations. Further projects are expected to enter delivery during 2027, creating a need for strong and consistent testing governance and delivery capability.

Key Responsibilities

Test Management & Delivery

• Own and manage the end-to-end testing strategy and approach across assigned projects and workstreams.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test strategies, test schedules, entry/exit criteria and test completion reporting.
• Lead a team of testers, allocating work effectively and ensuring appropriate coverage across functional, integration, system, regression and business acceptance testing.
• Ensure testing activities align with project timelines, Agile delivery methodologies and wider programme objectives.
• Apply and continually improve existing testing runbooks, playbooks, standards and lessons learned from previous implementations.
• Identify testing risks, dependencies, assumptions and constraints, escalating issues appropriately.
• Provide clear and concise reporting on testing progress, defects, risks, dependencies and overall readiness.

Systems, Integration & Requirements

• Develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end solution and the relationships between systems, platforms, interfaces and downstream processes.
• Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure requirements are complete, testable, traceable and appropriately prioritised.
• Assess the impact of requirements and changes across interconnected systems and processes.
• Ensure appropriate test coverage is established for system integrations, interfaces, APIs, data flows and upstream/downstream dependencies.
• Support the identification and management of gaps between requirements, system behaviour and expected business outcomes.
• Ensure traceability between business requirements, technical requirements, test scenarios, test cases and defects.

Data Governance & Data Quality

• Ensure testing adequately addresses data governance, data lineage, data integrity and data quality requirements.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to understand critical data elements, controls, validation rules and data dependencies.
• Establish appropriate test scenarios for data completeness, accuracy, consistency, integrity and reconciliation.
• Ensure data flows across systems and platforms are understood and appropriately validated.
• Identify and elevate data quality risks that could affect operational processes, regulatory obligations, reporting or client outcomes.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor and support testers, ensuring they have clear objectives, priorities and deliverables.
• Work closely with Development teams to identify issues early and support effective defect resolution.
• Establish strong working relationships with Business Analysts, Developers, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Product Owners and business stakeholders.
• Ensure issues and risks are raised at the appropriate level, with clear ownership, impact assessment and recommended actions.
• Facilitate defect triage and prioritisation sessions where required.
• Communicate complex technical and testing issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Challenge delivery teams constructively where quality, requirements, controls or testing coverage are insufficient.

Key Skills & Experience

• Significant experience working as a Test Manager or Senior Test Lead within complex technology, financial services or regulated environments.
• Proven experience managing and leading testing teams across complex, multi-system programmes.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and the roles and responsibilities of Business Analysts, Developers, Scrum Masters, Testers and other delivery disciplines.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of systems integration and the relationships between applications, platforms, interfaces and data flows.
• Demonstrable experience translating requirements into comprehensive test coverage and ensuring requirements traceability.
• Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles, including data integrity, reconciliation and validation.
• Experience managing defects from identification through to resolution and closure.
• Ability to identify testing risks and dependencies and escalation issues at the appropriate level.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and technology partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex technical and business processes.
• Experience within Financial Markets, Capital Markets, Banking or Financial Services.
• Experience working with Digital Assets, Blockchain, Tokenisation, Digital Cash or Stablecoins.
• Experience testing solutions involving public blockchain or distributed ledger technology.
• Experience with digital asset platforms, custody, settlement or trading infrastructure.
• Knowledge of financial market products, transaction lifecycles and operational processes.
• Experience with vendor onboarding and third-party technology implementations.
• Experience establishing or working with testing frameworks, runbooks and playbooks.
• Experience working across large-scale, multi-year transformation programmes.
• Familiarity with automated testing, API testing and data validation tools.
