Job summary

ESB Networks is seeking a Technology Operations Lead to head a multidisciplinary team responsible for NMS, SCADA and related OT platforms. You will drive operational excellence, balance stability with modernisation, and collaborate with IT, OT, vendors and business stakeholders in a critical infrastructure environment.

The role demands 8+ years of post-graduate experience, strong leadership, incident management, and a deep understanding of OT/IT convergence, cybersecurity and governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years' post-graduate experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting mission-critical OT and/or IT systems with high availability and real-time requirements.
• Proven experience leading technical teams within complex IT/OT environments.
• Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills.
• Experience in 24/7 operational support models and stakeholder management.
• Ability to lead during major incidents and drive operational improvements with metrics.
• Strong ITSM knowledge: Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration Management.
• Experience with interfaces between OT systems, enterprise apps and vendors.
• Ability to manage cyber security risks in critical infrastructure.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture, governance, and security standards.
• Experience collaborating with vendors and external delivery partners.
• Track record of delivering projects and transitioning to operations.
• Ability to develop technical documentation and runbooks.
• Experience upskilling teams in IT/OT environments.
• Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a Technology Operations team supporting critical OT systems.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentorship across IT/OT disciplines.
• Manage performance, workload, prioritisation and service delivery outcomes.
• Promote accountability and continuous improvement culture.
• Oversee support and lifecycle management of NMS, SCADA and OT platforms.
• Govern requests and changes with prioritisation and impact assessment.
• Ensure security, resilience, and high availability across OT environments.
• Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
• Drive service management and continuous improvement across technology services.
• Manage interfaces between OT platforms and ESB/third-party solutions.
• Support testing, releases, upgrades, and system changes with application teams.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge management.
