Job summary

Johnson Controls in Dublin is seeking a Tech Writer III to produce content for HVAC manufacturing programs. You will create SOPs, develop DITA XML documentation, and generate technical illustrations, working closely with manufacturing, product management, and engineering teams. Hybrid onsite presence is expected up to four days per week.

The role requires 2+ years in technical writing, a relevant English/technical background, and experience with content management systems and SOP development.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical writing experience.
• Educational background in English, Journalism, Technical Communications, Languages, Software & Hardware Engineering, Multimedia or Science.
• Experience with writing SOPs, preferably DITA XML.
• Technical illustration skills: Photoshop and Illustrator or similar.

We do more than just write. As a uniquely large technical communication department, we have built our own DocOps processes: authoring tooling, publishing platform, CCMS, style guide, review/editing, illustration, patents. The majority of our content is authored in DITA XML but we also support other authoring tools such as InDesign, Framemaker and Madcap Flare.The Technical Writing org have a track record of innovation within the company. We have won innovation competitions and had several patents granted.**What you will do*** Working closely with manufacturing teams based in Dublin. Candidates will be required to be onsite up to 4 days per week* Creating content for a business unit supporting program releases under the guidance of more senior team members* Creating standard operating procedures based on HVAC manufacturing processes.* Creating content in DITA xml and content management systems* Creating technical illustrations* Providing DocOps support.
