Job summary

Citco Group Limited is seeking a senior strategist to lead automation, AI and digital workflow initiatives within Private Assets Operations. The role focuses on determining what to automate, deployment approaches, and measuring realised benefits, partnering with IT and the Transformation Office to scale successful solutions.

With extensive exposure to automation in financial services, you will mentor a pod across multiple delivery areas, ensuring governance and ROI are embedded in every project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in accounting/finance/economics; accounting designation a plus.

About The Team & Business Line

Fund Administration is Citco's core business, and our alternative asset and accounting service is one of the industry's most respected. Our continuous investment in learning and technology solutions means our people are equipped to deliver a seamless client experience.

Strategic Operations is a dedicated function within Private Assets, created to take the development and delivery burden off Operations and to close the gap between project design and operational adoption - by making both the responsibility of the same people. The team owns transformation delivery, project execution, business analysis, operational initiatives and implementation support, rather than relying on already stretched BAU teams and SMEs.

The team is organised into three delivery pods across two remits. EVP 1 - Operating Model & Product covers Pod A (Operating Model, Product & Client Solutions). EVP 2 - Technology, Data & Delivery covers Pod B (Data, Reporting & Platform Enablement) and Pod C (Digital Workflow, Automation & AI). Business analysis and implementation capability is embedded in every pod rather than centralised, with EVP 2 owning the standards for requirements, testing, cutover and benefits tracking.

This role sits in Pod C - Digital Workflow, Automation & AI, which determines what is worth automating and how it gets deployed and measured.

The group works in close partnership with Operations, the Transformation Office, IT, Tactical Operations and our Marquee Client teams. Roles are offered on both a permanent basis and as approximately 12-month rotational assignments, and are anchored in our strategic locations. Rotational colleagues join from the business, shape the change, and return to the line owning the delivery with broader project experience behind them

Responsibilities

Your Role

You will lead the automation and AI agenda for Private Assets Operations - determining what is worth automating, how it gets deployed, and whether the benefit was real.

• Identify and prioritise automation, digital workflow and AI opportunities across the Private Assets estate.
• Determine the right approach for each opportunity - workflow, automation tooling or AI - and make the case for it.
• Own deployment standards so solutions are reusable and supportable rather than one-off local fixes.
• Partner with IT and the Transformation Office through build, deployment and support.
• Define how benefit will be measured before build starts, and report on whether it was realised.
• Establish the governance and controls around automated and AI assisted processes, working with Risk and the Control Office.
• Coordinate with Tactical Operations on automation already deployed, and pick up solutions worth scaling.
• Lead and mentor pod resources, including rotational colleagues joining from the business.
• Report on progress, risks and benefits realisation to the EVP and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

About You

You have 12-15 years' experience in private assets or a comparable financial services environment, with substantial exposure to automation or digital transformation.

• Proven delivery of automation, digital workflow or AI initiatives that were deployed and adopted, not just piloted.
• Strong technical knowledge of private assets processes - enough to judge what is genuinely automatable and what is not.
• Practical understanding of workflow orchestration, exception-based processing and the control implications of automation.
• Sound commercial judgement on effort versus benefit, and the willingness to stop work that will not pay back.
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals, including rotational colleagues joining from the business.
• Skilled in business planning, budgeting and stakeholder negotiation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; professional accounting designation a plus.
