Job summary

Company Details Confidential in Dundalk area seeks a care support worker to assist adults and young people with intellectual disabilities, autism or mental health needs. You will provide daily living support, promote independence, and accompany clients to activities and appointments as part of a small team.

Requirements include a full driving licence, willingness to complete QQI Level 5, Garda vetting and two references.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in care/related field.
• QQI Level 4 in Healthcare Support, Social Care or Disability Studies (or willingness to complete).
• Full B driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living support: cooking, shopping, budgeting and household routines.
• Encourage independence and implement support, risk and behaviour plans.
• Transport service users to activities and appointments when required; write daily notes.
• Record incidents, report safeguarding concerns immediately and participate in team rota.

Hiring for Dundalk & surrounding areas.

What you'll be doing: Supporting an adults/young persons with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health needs or complex support requirements.

Daily living support - cooking, shopping, budgeting, household routines.

Encourage and prompt independence in, appearance and daily routines in line with the individual's support plan.

Getting out and about: appointments, day services, training, sport, leisure, family visits.

Following individual support plans, positive behaviour support plans and risk plans.

Administering and recording medication (training provided). Writing clear daily notes and incident reports. Reporting any safeguarding concern immediately.

Working as part of a small, tight team on a planned rota.

What you need: Full driving licence. You'll be driving service users to locations if necessary. Some experience supporting people with different conditions QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, Social Care or Disability Studies - OR a genuine willingness to complete it. Eligible to work in Ireland. Happy to be Garda vetted and provide two references. Available for 12-hour day and night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
