Job summary

Alstom in Cork, Ireland, is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to support commercial management on major projects. The role involves optimizing margins, managing client payments, and overseeing sub-contract accounts from start to final account, while ensuring compliance with contract terms and project procedures.

You’ll work with the Commercial Manager and Project Teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, provide guidance on NEC3/NEC4 processes, and maintain robust change control, reporting back on

Qualifications

• Experience in contracting commercial department desirable.
• Experience with quantification and cost analysis of construction works.
• Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and compensation events.
• Knowledge of risk registers and risk management.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Administer client payment cycle up to Final Account and Project Change Account to maximise income and maintain cash flow.
• Manage sub-contract accounts from project start to final account with accurate reporting.
• Interpret contract conditions and rights/obligations of all parties.
• Maintain contemporaneous records for progress, delays and change control.
• Gather elemental costs and measurement data for project financials.
• Participate in Monthly Project Reviews and Work Package Management Reviews.
• Provide guidance on commercial topics and support project teams and Commercial Managers.
• Develop relationships with clients, project teams, sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Evaluate processes to support continuous improvement and best practices.
