Job summary

Egmont in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on high-value projects across industrial, life sciences, energy and infrastructure sectors. Based in Cork, you will drive cost control, reporting and profitability from pre-construction through final accounts.

The role requires a Degree in Quantity Surveying and a minimum of seven years in contracting, with strong knowledge of Irish contracts and client-facing negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a contracting environment (engineering, civil, or M&E preferred).
• Excellent knowledge of Irish forms of contract (e.g. PWC, FIDIC, NEC).
• Strong commercial awareness and cost control skills.
• Confident in client-facing roles and negotiating with subcontractors.
• Proficient in reporting, cash flow forecasting, and project finance.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of assigned projects.
• Prepare cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Subcontractor procurement and contract administration.
• Monitor and report on project costs, margins, and cash flow.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams.
• Contribute to risk analysis and value engineering.
• Ensure adherence to contract terms and company procedures.
