Chemco Ireland Limited are recruiting a highly organised and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our Distribution team.
The Distribution Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, managing stock control activities, and ensuring effective inventory governance across the Distribution Division. The role plays a key part in supporting warehouse operations, improving inventory visibility, driving stock accuracy, and supporting business growth initiatives through effective inventory management.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records across all warehouse locations through stock control, cycle counting, stock reconciliations and discrepancy investigations.
- Manage inventory transactions within the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including GRNs, stock movements, adjustments, quarantines, returns, disposals and customer-specific stock requests.
- Take ownership of inventory administration activities and ensure all supporting documentation is processed accurately and on time.
- Support warehouse operations by coordinating inventory activities and ensuring receipt, storage, picking, loading and dispatch processes are completed in line with company procedures.
- Generate inventory reports, stock accuracy metrics, KPI reports and other operational performance data to support decision-making.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Drive continuous improvement in stock accuracy, inventory control, traceability and warehouse processes.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, quality standards and inventory governance protocols.
- Provide support during stock counts, audits and operational peak periods.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely where required and complete all relevant inspections and checks.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and audit readiness across inventory and warehouse areas.
- Act as a key point of contact for stock-related matters and work collaboratively with Operations, Customer Service, Sales Operations, Quality and Warehouse teams.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a stock control, inventory management, warehouse administration, or similar inventory-focused role.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including analysing data, reconciling information and producing reports.
- Experience managing GRNs, stock transactions, inventory adjustments, cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
- Experience investigating stock discrepancies and identifying root causes of inventory issues.
- Experience preparing inventory reports, monitoring KPIs and supporting inventory-related business decisions.
- Experience using Mechanical Handling Equipment.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and stock accuracy methodologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret inventory data, identify trends and provide meaningful insights.
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
